Our 1% Retinol Night Oil is our night-time skin savior. Truly a super ingredient, Retinol (Vitamin A) has the most scientifically proven benefits for anti-aging. Not only does vitamin A reduce fine lines, but it also regulates sebum production and the exfoliating properties result in a smoother, less pigmented complexion.
As we get older, the collagen levels naturally found in our skin start to deplete (this begins in your late 20's and early 30's and studies show over 30% loss happens in the first 5 years of the menopause) as the skin’s cell renewal process slows down. Retinol works at a deep cellular level to reactivate this, boosting collagen and elastin production, which plumps the skin and aids flexibility.
Our fragrance-free high-strength serum contains the most stable form of Retinol (Retinyl Palmitate) which is the least likely to make your skin react as its quite gentle, even those with sensitive skin as side effects are rare. This formulation is also perfectly balanced. Containing Vitamin E, a natural antioxidant and a luxurious blend of Rosehip and Jojoba oils leaves the skin feeling nourished, protected, and radiant.
Did you know? Vitamin A was first used to treat acne-prone skin, due to its ability to shrink and unclog pores.
HOW TO USE
Apply to the face in the evening using 2-4 drops after cleansing and toning. Gently massage into your face, avoiding the lips, eyes, and neck, applying only up to the orbital bone area of the eyes. Then follow with your nighttime moisturiser.
Do not apply more than once or twice a week initially. This allows the skin time to acclimatize and reduces the risk of skin irritation. Gradually increase use over a 4 to 6 week period.
Suggested use by age:
20-30 - twice weekly
30-40 - three times weekly
40-50 - four times weekly
50-60 - five times weekly
60-70 - six times weekly
70 + - seven times weekly
It can take up to a month for the results to show as skin is renewed on average every 28 days. Please do not apply more frequently to speed up the process.
Ensure you use a broad-spectrum SPF (30+ to 50+) during the day as your skin may become more photosensitive when using Retinol.
While certain side effects, such as mild irritation, dryness, and sun sensitivity are normal as your skin adjusts, intense flaking, redness, and burning are not, and those with especially sensitive skin, or who struggle with conditions like rosacea or eczema, should be wary of retinol or shy away from it altogether. Discontinue use should you have any harsh skin reactions and consult your doctor if you are pregnant and or breastfeeding prior to application.
